In the early hours of a beautiful spring day in 1980, in a majestic old city in Central Europe, a little girl named Melodía J. Parker was born. She would leave Europe at the age of 3 with her parents to relocate to the United States. They originally lived in the Washington, DC area. Later, they moved to Baltimore, Maryland.
By the time she arrived in the United States, she could already read and write in two languages (English and Spanish). Her love of reading and writing has been truly lifelong.
At the age of 10, her life would change forever when she read the newly released “Complete and Uncut” version of Stephen King’s The Stand. After reading the first chapter, she knew that she wanted to be a writer, just like Mr. King. Despite her young age, she had already read several novels by Mr. King (Carrie, The Shining, Cujo, It, Pet Sematary). Each of these novels had convinced her that writing was interesting, but it was The Stand that made her want to pursue it as a career.
After reading The Stand, she would write poetry and short stories to entertain her friends. But, what she really wanted to do was to write a novel like The Stand. It wouldn’t be until she turned 18 that she would pursue writing as a professional. She began working on a horror novel called The Mansion. Unfortunately, after two years of working on The Mansion, she was unable to make it work as a novel and she turned The Mansion into a short story. She also wrote several other short stories during this period.
During the time she worked on The Mansion, she earned two Associate of Applied Science degrees in Computer Information Systems and Business Management.
The next horror novel she attempted to write was called The Haven in 2001. She started working on The Haven right before she became a manager. However, she would become too busy during her management career to finish writing The Haven. During this time, she also returned to college at the age of 30, and two years later, at 32, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology and Sociology. Her concentration was in Anthropology and her minor was in History.
In 2016, after wondering if she would ever get a novel completed, a horrific event occurred in the United States that jolted her back into writing. The disastrous results of the 2016 US presidential election sparked an idea for a new horror/dystopian novel, Us Against Them. She would put The Haven aside and focus on Us Against Them for the next nine years.
As she worked on Us Against Them, she was accepted into grad school and she earned her Master of Science degree in Human Relations and Business. Her specialization was in Change Management.
As Us Against Them gets closer for release in 2025, she returned to college yet again in March 2025 to start a new (and final) career journey into becoming a CPA. As she follows the numerous steps to attain CPA licensure, she is planning to release several books and collections in the next five years.

I will never meet with any fans privately. I won't give them my phone number. I won't even give them my email address! Why am I so against meeting with fans privately?
You put yourself in a really bad situation. If the fan decides to make a false accusation against you, you're screwed. This has happened too many times to too many people. It's not going to happen to me! I am not going to put myself into a situation where a "fan" decides to lie about the encounter and then try to ruin my life....
As of today (May 20, 2025), I haven't made a public appearance. And I probably never will. Why is that?
The main reason is that I just don't like being in public. Things are very bad right now in the United States. I don't need to be attacked by some lunatic because they don't like what I write, or don't like the fact that I'm a woman, or don't like the way I look. It's safer for me to just stay at home. Maybe one day, when things finally calm down, it will be safe for me to do a signing or...

This is the book that took 9(!) years to write!
Originally called The New Soviet Union, this book's journey started in November 2016. It was first a poem, called "The New Soviet Union." Then, a short story, "The Russian Machine." I've included both the poem and the short story in the novel. Finally, I decided to make it a novel based on the main...
A Bright Light in a Dark World
The year 2025 is one of the worst years for many people, particularly for those living in the United States. The United States has been overtaken by a dictatorship and the future (and survival) of the country is uncertain. Everything is terrible and there seems to be no hope!
In February 2025, I decided to try a new writing challenge to have a...
The Haven
To be released in 2026.
Deep in the woods of Silver Maple is an old abandoned insane asylum complex called The Haven. Though it's been long abandoned, rumors constantly surround it. First, there's the rumors of a former patient, believed to be dead, who haunts The Haven's grounds and kills anyone who enters the property. Then, there are the...
