An update on my Financial Accounting class.

As some of you know, in March 2025, I returned to school to pursue my CPA license. There is one thing I have to do first before I can take the CPA test - I need to take accounting classes. I haven't taken any accounting class since 2000 (!), so I decided to start from scratch. The local community college where I received my two Associate's degrees offers a Financial Accounting certificate for people like me who are pursuing CPA licensure and have at least a Bachelor's degree (I have a Bachelor's degree and Master's degree). I took the first class - Financial Accounting - in March. The class just ended this week. Through lots of hard work (accounting is NOT easy and many students dropped out of the class over the semester), I got an "A"! I did very well on my final exam, which I was worried about, and it reinforced my "A" grade.

For the summer semester, I'm enrolled in two classes: Managerial Accounting and Ethics for Accounting. Managerial Accounting starts in June and then Ethics will be in July.  I'm going to try to take 2 classes every semester. Slowly, but surely, I'm going to get this certificate done and then on to the CPA test!
