In the past couple of years, I've been threatened by Drumpfers, Republicans, conservatives, and right wing nut jobs. Why? Because of my upcoming novel, Us Against Them. I'm very much anti-Putin and this novel reflects my hatred of Putin. Hell, I'm old enough to remember when the Republicans were against Putin. But, because of Drumpf, they're now big fans of Putin. They're angry that I have the audacity to write a fictional book about Putin that makes him (and the Republicans) look bad. Recently, I was called the "worst person in the world" by one of these Putin loving idiots. 

Because I'm against a dictator, that makes me the worst person in the world? I've known about Putin longer than I like to admit. I've known about that little midget since the 1990s. He's always been a horrible person. He's always been a dictator. Putin is deranged and depraved. He tortures and kills anyone who dares to criticize him. So, even though Us Against Them is fictional, there's a lot of truth to it, too. Many of the things that I write in Us Against Them have actually happened. Of course, as a writer, I take some liberties and I make things even worse. I make Putin look even more deranged and depraved. I want everyone to hate Putin as much as I do. I want people to realize that even though my novel is fictional, it's based on real events.

That's why it's taking me so long to finish this novel. It has been very difficult writing some of the more disturbing scenes. But, this story is important to me. Though I had to walk away from this novel a few times, I'm committed to finally publishing it this year. I believe in democracy and we're seeing it disappear quickly in the US because of Drumpf and his love of dictators like Putin. So, I guess I'm the worst person in the world for believing in democracy and not in dictatorships. I'm also the worst person in the world for writing a fictional book. How dare I!
